Do you have anything to do on Valentines Day Philippines? Valentines is one of the most critical dates marked in every couple’s calendar. It is the time when the Filipino Valentine’s Day traditions suddenly become alive. Since it is the day for lovers to celebrate and profess their love for that special someone, perhaps these few suggestions could give you ideas if you have not decided how to celebrate the occasion yet.
1. Dine-out
Nothing is better than having a fantastic conversation with your partner over a delicious lunch or dinner in a restaurant with a superb ambience. Just don’t forget to make a reservation during this day because for sure, many couples plan to have a cozy meal with wine on Valentine’s.
2. Dancing cheek to cheek
Dancing after a sumptuous dinner will surely be a night to remember. Maybe you could continue your conversation while dancing to your favourite music and singer. You will not only have fun, but it will increase your closeness towards each other.
3. Chill at home
If you are the type of couple who likes to relax at home and stay out of the crowd, there are still many things that you could do. Preparing a meal could be an excellent bonding time together. Preparing, plating, and tasting the food altogether would be a fun experience. After that, you can watch a feel-good movie.
4. Go on a holiday adventure.
Part of the Filipino Valentines Day Traditions is going to the world-famous tourist spots in the Philippines to spend their precious time together. For couples who are into art and history, Vigan City could be an excellent place to visit. The city is rich with the Spanish era culture where you can enjoy the Hispanic buildings, food, and music. The lights and water show in the Dancing Fountain is also a spectacle. Another historic spot is in Intramuros, Manila. Biking around the area can give you a glimpse of old Manila. You could also choose to ride the calesa to explore the area.
There are also many islands in the Philippines for those who would like to explore beaches. Coron, Palawan is the first on the list of most travelling couples. It is a perfect destination for honeymooners and teams because of the beautiful beaches and lakes and the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere in the area. Couples also frequent the world-class Boracay on the island of Aklan because of its white-sand beaches, nightlife, and water sports. Laguna is also an excellent place for nature-lovers.
Its crystal-clear lakes, bamboo raft tours, float houses, fish pens, and of course, the Taal Volcano.
5. Hike and camp.
For couples who love to hike, Sagada is not only a place where broken hearts go but for lovers as well. You and your other half could walk and see the caves and waterfalls in the area or even have an enjoyable motorcycle ride. After a day’s activity, you could set-up your tent, barbeque marshmallows, and sleep under the stars.
6. Massage and Spa
Valentines Day is not only an occasion that needs to be remembered. It is also the best time to go and relax with your partner. Going for a massage and a spa treatment is the right way of pampering and relaxing. It has many health benefits, such as stress reduction. If both of you feel moody lately, a good massage and spa treatment will help release tension and allow you to talk it out and settle things nicely.
7. Take a dip in the water
Swimming could be a fun couple of activities in a beach, river, or swimming pool. If you could not go that far for a swim, both of you can take a dip in the bathtub filled with rose petals and essential oils, lightly scented candles, and drink wine.
8. Don’t forget the Filipino Valentine’s Day Traditions
A Filipino chocolate, Filipino Pinoy flowers, and Filipino Valentines Day cards would surely be gifts that your partner would appreciate. Filipino chocolate products in all shapes and sizes are delicious, chewy, and sometimes filled with local nuts. Filipino Pinoy flowers like Orchids, are not only beautiful but have sweet smells as well. Filipinos are very creative, so there is no cuter way to say “I love you” than a Filipino Valentines Day card.
In the end, expensive and extravagant surprises are much appreciated but would mean nothing if you and your loved one do not spend the time together to bond, have a deeper understanding of each other, and a great fun time. If you want to be unique, impress your partner by giving a box of Filipino chocolates, Filipino Pinoy flowers, and Filipino Valentines Day cards. Your loved one will surely appreciate this as you made an effort to have a genuinely Filipino way of expressing and celebrating your love on Valentines Day Philippines.
